MBRDNA is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, with key areas of Autonomous Driving, Advanced Interaction Design, Digital User Experience, Machine Learning, Customer Research, and Open Innovation. In Farmington Hills, Michigan, the focus is on Powertrain and eDrive technology as well as in Long Beach, where the teams test durability of the latest driver assistant and telematic systems. The Digital Hub in Seattle focusses on developing a cloud architecture and building out the cloud platform for the next generation of connected car services. The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad complete the competence center.
We are looking for a Senior Technology Strategy Consultant to join us in the Office of the CEO at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America (MBRDNA). In this role, you will primarily work as a member of Mercedes-Benz Management Consulting projects to support global in-house consulting projects. You will represent the perspective of the US technology sector, especially Silicon Valley, and US customers. You will also connect the global Mercedes-Benz strategy perspective back to projects at MBRDNA.
About Mercedes-Benz Management Consulting:Mercedes-Benz Management Consulting drives pivotal strategic projects and strengthens the digital growth of Mercedes-Benz in close cooperation with Mercedes-Benz’ top management. The group develops strategies for (digital) business transformation, enables internal project partners to automate the core business, and designs innovative digital business models.
As a Senior Technology Strategy Consultant based in Silicon Valley, you will be a key contributor to the development of digital solutions and thereby actively shape the future of one of the world's most successful automotive companies. In our projects across all units across Mercedes-Benz worldwide, you will evaluate tech trends and incorporate those into state-of-the-art solutions that Mercedes-Benz Management Consulting develops for its clients. 
You will be the primary interface of Mercedes-Benz Management Consulting to the tech community/ecosystem in Silicon Valley and provide relevant external insights for our everyday project work. In the other direction, you will help develop MBRDNA’s strategy and priorities based on the insights gleaned from your consulting projects.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Consulting — you actively contribute to and support consulting projects as a staffed/billable member of one or more projects with responsibility for a particular project scope
  • Tech Scouting — you proactively monitor industry trends and provide benchmark analysis on selected tech topics to help us live up to Mercedes-Benz’ ambition: the best or nothing
  • Networking — you leverage your professional network to gather expert input for projects and act as our interface to relevant partners in the US
  • Capacitate — you connect Mercedes-Benz’ global strategy and MBRDNA’s priorities to maximize MBRDNA’s impact

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed studies (preferably MSc, MBA, or PhD) in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering or comparable fields
  • 7+ years of professional experience in a highly dynamic environment (e.g. at major tech players, startups/scale-ups or similar)
  • Sound professional experience in product management or ownership of digital products or services, digital business strategy, customer success management or service delivery in the technology sector
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a proven ability to think strategically and drive change across a global organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate and present complex concepts or ideas to top executives in a clear and effective manner
  • Exceptionally high analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive professional network in Silicon Valley
  • Proven ability to work in a team and enjoy interdisciplinary project work
  • Successfully completed studies (preferably MSc, MBA, or PhD) in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering or comparable fields
  • Programming skills desirable (e.g., SQL, Python, JAVA, or C/C++)
  • Driving a vehicle is required for this position
  • California Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:
