As a Ride Painter at Fun Spot Theme Park, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our rides and attractions continue to dazzle and delight visitors of all ages. Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour

Key Objectives 

  • Painting and Refinishing: Execute high-quality painting and refinishing work on our rides, structures, and equipment, maintaining their visual appeal and safety standards.
  • Color Coordination: Select and mix paint colors to match Fun Spot's vibrant aesthetic, ensuring a cohesive and inviting look throughout the park.
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary to achieve a flawless finish.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, keeping both yourself and your colleagues safe while working on and around rides.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our maintenance and operations teams to schedule and coordinate painting projects efficiently.  

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses repair, and maintenance as related to painting machinery. Example: Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers or power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.
  • Proficiency in various painting techniques, including brushwork, spraying, and rolling, with the ability to produce smooth and even finishes.
  • Experience in properly preparing surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming, to ensure a flawless and long-lasting finish.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Compliance with Fun Spot America Theme Park’s drug-free workplace policy, including consent to pre-employment drug testing and adherence to federal, state, and local laws regarding drug and alcohol use.
  • Successfully undergo a comprehensive background check and motor vehicle check when applicable.


Physical Requirements

Working as a painter at a theme park can be physically demanding due to the diverse range of tasks involved in maintaining the park's vibrant and immersive atmosphere. Applicants for this position should be aware of the following physical requirements:

  • Standing and Mobility: The role often involves standing for extended periods and moving around the park to access different painting projects and areas.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Painters may be required to lift and carry heavy painting equipment, tools, and materials, which can weigh up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Bending and Kneeling: Frequent bending and kneeling are necessary for surface preparation and detailed painting work.
  • Climbing: Painters may need to climb ladders or scaffolding to access elevated surfaces for painting, especially on large-scale attractions.
  • Repetitive Movements: Painting often involves repetitive arm and hand movements when applying paint, especially when using brushes or rollers.
  • Dexterity: Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are crucial for precise painting and attention to detail.
  • Exposure to Paint Fumes: Painters should be comfortable working in environments with paint fumes. Proper ventilation and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
  • Outdoor Work: Depending on the park's operations, painters may work outdoors in varying weather conditions, which could include exposure to heat, cold, rain, or sun.
  • Physical Endurance: The ability to maintain physical stamina and energy throughout the workday, especially during peak seasons when the workload may be high.
  • Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to adhering to safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques, PPE usage, and awareness of potential hazards in the work environment.
  • Visual Acuity: Good vision and color perception are essential for accurately matching and applying paint colors.
