PROJECT COORDINATOR

The College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks a reliable, pleasant, energetic person with an impeccable work ethic to coordinate an NIH/NINR funded grant and to assist with study related activities under the supervision of the principal investigator.

 
Duties 

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating communication among the investigators, the activities of all research staff, and implementation of the protocol. Reporting to the PI and Co-Is on a regular basis and will assist with the hiring and training of staff for a NIH/NINR funded grant. Assist with study related activities under the supervision of the principal investigator.

 

·       Supervising project personnel (recruiters/data collector, interventionists)

o   Directing and managing the work

o   Staff performance management

·       Manage the day-to-day work of the project, such as patient eligibility screening, recruitment, and enrollment, data collection, and data entry/checking

·       Facilitating patient recruitment.

·       Manage the collection of all data and the randomization of participants.

·       Maintaining patient screening and enrollment data.

·       Scheduling follow up data collection appointments.

·       Overseeing hospitalization/death data collection/entry.

·       Overseeing data management, monitoring compliance with protection of human subjects.

·       Overseeing and monitoring resource allocation such as project expenses and compensation of participants.

·       Maintaining and monitoring budgets.

·       Facilitating communication among PI, Co-Is, and research staff daily and through arranging weekly to monthly group meetings and quarterly PI/Co-Is meetings.

·       Revising and submitting IRB protocols and recommending modifications of protocols.

 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in nursing; Master’s degree preferred

·       Project manager or coordinator for at least 3 years.
