Purpose within the Organization:
The purpose of this position is to assist CAM with the Ethington Theater.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
Student will aid the technical director and master electrician in execution of designs for Ethington Theatre’s main stage productions which includes but is not limited to:
- Set construction
- Welding
- Light focus/hang
- Operating shop tools and machinery including but not limited to woodworking tools, steel cutting and grinding tools, and electrical equipment
Equipment used and responsibility:
- Computer
- Copier
- Hand tools and Power tools
- Table saw and chop saws – virtually any and all construction tools
- Ladders and personnel lifts and climbing equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and climb ladders and work at height
Qualifications:
Student should have a working knowledge of basic construction, lighting, and tool usage. Familiarity with theatre methodology is highly recommended.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
