The Disaster Recovery Analyst III works with technology and business experts in the development of disaster recovery plans which are activated in response to man-made or natural events affecting the Bank’s primary computing facilities. The DR Analyst executes established procedures for identifying disaster recovery requirements which are met through the creation and testing of disaster recovery plans according to architecture standards as defined by Enterprise Architecture. This process involves leading recovery plan contributors through requirements definition, plan creation, testing and post-test issues remediation and risk issue remediation. The Analyst III also acts as the team lead in establishing workload coverage and distribution to ensure the team is evenly resourced in addition to providing coverage and oversight of key functions necessary to the effective execution of the program.Supports the Disaster Recovery (DR) Program by engaging with technology and business owners in the development and exercising DR plans and procedures.
- Assists technology subject matter experts in identifying, evaluating, and remediating disaster recovery requirements, gaps and risks.
- Assist technology owners in documenting DR procedures to failover technology application systems to an alternate region.
- Participate in the planning, leadership and execution of quarterly disaster recovery test exercises including measuring actual recovery and test performance and results to management.
- Maintain relationships with Technology Owners to help them revise DR plans as part of the technology lifecycle and as part of the quarterly DR test exercise program
- Support and assist Technology Owners in submitting DR test exercise preparation deliverables including tracking and resolving test exercise issues after each quarterly test exercise.
- Use of disaster recovery planning tools including, but not limited to, automated notification systems (Everbridge) and disaster recovery plan management software (Riskonnect).
- Support the resolution of findings and process improvement opportunities to ensure that findings and gaps are resolved by technology owners and the business.
- Monitor the status and effectiveness of test issues resolution to provide credible challenge ensure technology risks and gaps are permanently remediated.
- Maintain the ONCALL rotation and coverage matrix for DR tests and recurring meetings including the Change Advisory Board (CAB), Technology Review Board (TRB) and architecture Standards Board (ASB).
- Act as Technical Lead for the team including DR test exercise application scheduling, considering hard starts and technical dependencies to ensure test objectives are met.
- Mentor other team members on technical topics including DNS, failover strategies, database recovery strategies and approved technology standards.
- Establish and maintain the highest standard for quality and consistency of work product, employee engagement, follow-through and adherence to established processes as a model for the team.
- Lead the pack in proactivity by anticipating and addressing team challenges, needs and corresponding solutions which enable the team to demonstrate timely and continuous improvement in delivery.
- Perform Disaster Recovery KRI calculations based on test results as recorded in ServiceNow and submit the KRI results within the SAI360 GRC Tool on a quarterly basis.
- Act as the ServiceNow team lead including dashboard widget development & maintenance, reporting & exporting, annual DR requirements workflow approvals
- Act as the team lead for updating any open Audit or DR test related KRI breach risk issues in SAI360 GRC Tool on a weekly or monthly basis, as required.
- Lead the team in identifying process and productivity improvement opportunities.
What you'll need:
- BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Management, or seven years of related experience required.
- Three to five years of related experience in the Banking or Financial Service industry required (over five years preferred).
- Knowledge & skills typically resulting from seven years of related experience in Disaster Recovery Planning required.
- Experience in working with small groups of (1-5) employees preferred.
- Certified training in business continuity and/or disaster recovery solutions and practices a plus (i.e., CBCP, ABCP, CBCI, BCCP, CBRM, CBRITP, etc.).
- The ability to travel (drive or fly) regionally and nationally on an occasional basis may be required.
