Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Brain Cancer Research - Neuroscience Research Program

The Neuroscience Research Program at Tufts Medical Center in Boston invites post-doctoral applications for a position to study the GABA-A receptor in primary and secondary brain cancers. The Sengupta/Krummel laboratory has published papers about GABA-A receptor modulation in primary and secondary brain cancers. They have formed a start-up pipeline of new drugs with their collaborator, Professor Emeritus James Cook (University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee).

A highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow is sought, ideally with prior experience in brain tumor biology. The laboratory is new to Tufts Medical Center but has a strong track record in studying GABA-A receptors in cancer. The successful applicant will work closely with the Co-Principal Investigator (Dr. Krummel) on research projects studying the mechanisms contributing to cancer cell death due to GABA-A receptor mechanism, using novel electroceuticals. As needed, the individual will be required to independently develop protocols and
establish new methodologies in the laboratory. The applicant would be intimately involved in writing and presenting new discoveries. The ideal candidate:
 

- Degree requirement: MD, PhD or both

- Excellent writing and communications skills

- Prior experience in translational brain tumor research.

- The fellow will work closely with both Principal Investigators in this dynamic research program.

Job Description 

Minimum Qualifications: 

1. PHD in a relevant field of study OR M.D.

2. Prior experience in healthcare research. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Excellent writing and communications skills
2. Prior experience in translational brain tumor research.
3. The fellow will work closely with both Principal Investigators in this dynamic research program.

4. Record of publication in relevant field of study.
