While first priority for this position will be managing patients in the OBED, duties may also include, but not limited to, first assisting in cesarean sections, performing circumcisions, performing Nexplanon implants, H&P’s and postpartum rounding. A background in women’s health is desired but not essential, as we are willing to train (with the MD’s, APP’s in L&D ) in all aspects of this position. Special privileges will be applied for and criteria met for performing these duties through our Medical Staff office upon hire. Surgical experience a plus!

This position will initially provide coverage Monday through Friday 3p-11p. However, this will change to align with the current role of the postpartum team with future care model re-alignment. Once this change occurs, the caregivers in this role participate in day/night shift change. In current state, every one of our caregivers works every third weekend, with a fellow APP, during day shift, and also will be covering a night weekend shift.  All of these shift requirements are not negotiable and part of the job. The day shift involves the hours of either 7a-3:30pm or 7a-7p, and alternate as scheduled. There are normally at least two of our APP’s on day shift. The night shift hours are 7p-7a, and there is one of our APP’s scheduled at night.

Every one of our caregivers are trained and involved in C-sections, Nexplanon implants, and circumcisions. This is a vital responsibility of the position, along with triage and post-partum rounding, along with the shift changes from days to nights as scheduled and is non-negotiable.
