Purpose of the Position
The Career Services Manager assists all current, graduating students, and alumni in securing employment in the industries represented by the school's programs of study. The Career Services Manager assists the Director, Career Services in achieving goals through services that offer career guidance, generate job leads and appropriately match qualified candidates with potential job opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with employers and alumni. The Career Services Manager supports and guides the daily efforts, productivity, and overall time management of a designated team. The Career Services Manager works as an extension of the people leadership team, as needed.
The Career Services Manager reports to the Director, or Senior Director, Career Services.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive Team Productivity and Quality: Ensure efficient and effective daily conversion of interviews, hires, and placements. Monitor and enhance team performance to meet quality standards.
- Student and Alumni Support Management: Manage communication, forecasting, and support for UMA’s current students, graduating students, and alumni. Provide personalized guidance to help them navigate their career paths.
- Graduate Career Development: Guide graduates through the entire interview and hiring process with multiple Allied Healthcare employers: Prepare graduates for interviews; Facilitate interview attendance; Assist with job offers and onboarding; Support graduates in their new roles.
- Customer Service and Relationship Building: Handle manager-level customer service, re-engagement, and de-escalation calls, as necessary. Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders, including students, alumni, and employers.
- Team Member Call Monitoring: Conduct regular coaching sessions, monitor calls, and provide one-on-one development for all assigned team members.
- Lead with Care: Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of wellness, recognition, and engagement. Meet regularly with direct reports in one-on-one and group settings to provide feedback and cultivate/maintain a positive work culture.

Required Skills/Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in recruiting, career services, employment assistance, or sales.
- Skills – people leadership, multi-tasking, ability to handle a high-pressure environment, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
- Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.
Preferred Requirements:
- Any degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience and/or strong or advanced proficiency in any of the above required skills/experience.
- Experience leading teams and/or people.
- Experience developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships.
