Senior Director Strategy & Business Operations - West Europe

DP World is looking to hire a Senior Director of Strategy & Operations Western Europe, who independently represents the EVP in strategic projects, internal governance forums, and external collaborations to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will coordinate and manage integration efforts together with the relevant business units and leadership teams, following acquisitions to secure effective and timely integration while delivering against the business plans. Besides this you will drive and coordinate strategic initiatives and change programs across different countries, sites, functions and different sorts of operations within the West Europe Cluster. And act as the primary day-to-day liaison between the Ports & Terminal organizations and the EVP, ensuring seamless communication and proactive issue resolution.

You will design and oversee, in collaboration with the communications team, a strategic internal communication framework to support leadership messaging for key initiatives, ensuring alignment with global and regional strategies, to drive employee engagement across the cluster.

Your Key Accountabilities: 

• Drive the execution and monitoring of strategic projects, ensuring measurable business impact across all business units. Act as the strategic advisor and trusted partner to the EVP West Europe, providing actionable insights and recommendations for decision-making. Identify, assess, and mitigate strategic risks while ensuring proactive resolution of operational and strategic escalations
• Drive Change management initiatives to support the overall organizational transformation and ensure alignment with global and regional strategic objectives
• Coordinate agendas and chair regular Cluster Leadership Team meetings to ensure strategic alignment and effective decision-making. Organize strategic alignment workshops and leadership offsites to drive focus and cohesion within the Cluster Leadership Team. Lead the development and implementation of agile tools and dashboards to monitor and manage strategic priorities effectively
• Represent the EVP in high-level strategic and operational meetings, ensuring alignment and progress on business objectives. Serve as the key liaison for cluster-level functions not directly represented in the Cluster Leadership Team, including Communications, Safety, and Sustainability, ensuring their strategic alignment with overall business objectives
• Manage stakeholder relationships internally and externally, ensuring collaboration and alignment with regional and global leadership. Participate in and coordinate the day-to-day communications for strategic partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other forms of collaboration within the cluster to drive business growth
• Lead and manage cross-functional initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration across departments to achieve strategic goals
• Support integration efforts following acquisitions, ensuring alignment of cultures, systems and processes, driving the realization of synergies and strategic goals
• In collaboration with the Communications and Marketing teams as appropriate, develop and oversee a comprehensive strategic internal communication framework, including a regular Cluster Newsletter, townhall messaging, quarterly Employee Newsletter and other relevant strategies leveraging relevant media and channels, ensuring content is engaging, accessible, and distributed effectively across all employee levels
• Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound

Our Key Requirements: 

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, or a related field
• 10-15 years of senior leadership experience in a global, complex organization
• Proven success in strategy execution, operational management, and change leadership
• Experience in the Ports & Terminals sector or logistics industry is highly preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in managing strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and integrations
• You speak and write fluent English – additional languages are a bonus, in particular Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian.
