About the role
Description
- Performing both on-board and distance-support technical assistance, system evaluation, and maintenance of various naval systems and networks
- Supporting NIWC LANT on various naval platforms to provide comprehensive C4I System Integration and CSITE technical support to include assessment, maintenance assistance, training, troubleshooting, repair and documentation
- Performing advanced level networking system management, administration and maintenance support to the CANES AN/USQ-208(V) system with SW1/SW2
- Providing onboard training and distance support (email, chat, phone) to ship’s force
- Providing subject matter expertise to development, testing, and curriculum maintenance efforts for the various variants of the CANES and ADNS systems
- Interacting daily with customers and other stakeholders
- Conducting a detailed assessment of the condition of C4I systems prior to maintenance availability
- Assisting ship's force with properly laying up C4I equipment; providing training on safe layup procedures and equipment maintenance
- Assisting ship's force with proper startup of C4I equipment; providing training on safe layup procedures and equipment maintenance
- Performing light industrial repairs, such as cable repairs, as time and resources allow
- Performing repairs as necessary to ensure proper equipment functionality
- Providing training on C4I equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Assisting ship's force with integrating legacy C4I equipment with modernized or upgraded items
- Creating or updating training materials, and other training-related documentation
- Performing system-level software testing to accurately validate operational readiness
- Conducting detailed assessments of the condition of C4I systems prior to, and upon completion, of maintenance availability periods
- Providing training to ship's force on safe layup and startup procedures for C4I equipment maintenance during availability periods
- Providing ship's force with system familiarity training, to include references for installing software, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting TACNET systems during maintenance availability periods
- Reading, understanding, and interpreting technical reports diagrams and system drawings
- Completing various administrative tasks to include drafting status reports, documenting configuration changes and tracking on the job training for ship's force
- Providing daily written and/or oral status updates of current system support evolution, and support provided to platforms to supervisor and In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) personnel
- Supporting and communicating directly with a variety of stakeholders to include government civilians, technical staff, junior and senior military personnel
- Prioritizing tasks and strong ability to meet deadlines
- Working independently with little oversight
- Performing ad-hoc tasking within contract scope
- Traveling will occasionally be required to support maintenance availabilities, SOVTs, SOTs, Tech Assists, etc.
- Traveling up to 20-30% CONUS and OCONUS annually, including potential underwaytime for workup events

Requirements
- 10 years of hands-on experience supporting CANES AN/USQ-208 variants and ADNS variants on naval platforms to include; operating, maintaining, testing, assessing, troubleshooting and repair of TACNET systems
- Five years of experience with configuring and troubleshooting enterprise LANs
- High level of experience working with ADNS feature sets 2 and 3
- Working knowledge of integrated and interfacing C4I systems
- Significant understanding of Cisco Routing & Switching
- Strong working knowledge and experience with networking concepts and protocols
- Administration experience with Cisco switches and routers or Windows Server
- Deliver onboard technical training to improve operational readiness to ships force
- Attend and participate in technical meetings, report on technical progress, prepare briefs, and provide presentations
- Ability to effectively communicate via oral and written communications with a variety of stakeholders
- High level of soft skills, and professionalism with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and afloat units
- Knowledge of combat systems department roles and responsibilities
- Knowledge of shipboard evolutions impacting testing, troubleshooting and ship’s force availability
- Strong working knowledge of the Navy 3M program
- High degree of self-motivation, time management, ability to prioritize tasking and meet stringent timeline requirements
- Ability to work successfully in a collaborative & diverse env
