Job Overview
The Senior Director of Audio Visual Event Services is responsible for the planning, coordinating, budgeting, staffing, and the overall administration of the AV Event Services in duties that include but are not limited to:
- Act in a Production Director capacity for all Major Events and Video Productions relating to Events - administering and developing all event site AV emerging technologies; and overseeing the planning, designing, and implementation of new Audio Visual equipment and systems
- Develop, recommend, and coordinate policies, plans, and programs for application of existing and new audiovisual, video production and media streaming technology for event purposes
- Coordinate, delegate, supervise, and work with the Department Personnel to provide all department services
- Assures proper provisions of all public address systems and AV support for special events (such as Conferences, Dedications, Fundraisers, Mock Trials, Special Lectures, Memorials Services, etc.) both on and off Law Center campus
- Assure that programs are completed on time, within budget, and to the user’s satisfaction.
- Evaluate program and provide clients with billing for services rendered
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Senior Director of Audio Visual Event Services is responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, staffing, and overall administration of the AV Event Services.
Other interactions include but are not limited to:
- All senior administrators, staff, faculty, students of Georgetown Law and Georgetown University at large, vendors and integrators
- VIP guests, including Senators, Congressmen and Judges
- Deans, faculty, staff, students, administration, alumni, public relations, Office of Development, Law Library faculty and staff, Department of Public Safety, press, outside vendors and other outside clients

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5-7 years of related experience - preference for 10 years in managing complex VIP events and the personnel that supports them
- Demonstrated ability in dealing successfully with diverse stakeholder groups and working under pressure
- Experience in the following technologies: Crestron, Extron, Wirecast, Final Cut Pro, Panopto, Cisco and Polycom video conferencing systems, Mac and PC proficiency
- Experience in the fields of project management and ITIL Service Delivery
- Working knowledge of safety equipment – for example, gloves, and eye and ear protection
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to work from ladders and scaffolding
- Availability and willingness to work flexible hours and overtime
This is an emergency designated position, given its key role in the support of our academic mission and the need to be available during after-hours.
