Job Responsibilities

 

• Uses computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. 
• Conduct laboratory optical and electrical experiments and tests under the supervision of scientists and engineers. 
• Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of robust, precision optoelectronic devices. 
• Engineering analysis to understand how design choices, tolerances, and environmental factors affect performance of electro-optical devices using appropriate tools for the job. 
• Use engineering tools such as Solidworks, ANSYS HFSS.
• Work closely with and assist engineers and scientists in the conduct of various engineering assignments.
• Complete assigned tasks on time. 
• Perform literature research to advance understanding on relevant topics. 
• Conduct design analysis and calculations.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and can build a good network.
• Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs, and practices. 
• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Our ideal candidate will have

 

• Experience with computer aided design tools. ANSYS HFSS and Solidworks is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Engineering ort Physics student; some progress towards engineering degree, preferably with coursework in electromagnetism and/or electrical engineering.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network.
• Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn.
   

The pay scale for this position is $23.81/hour - $30/hour. The pay scale information is a general guideline only.
