This role will require 5% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
This role will be responsible for defining strategy, driving secure development practices, and ensuring robust security controls across modern cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with leadership capability, enabling them to guide teams, influence stakeholders, and embed security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and cloud infrastructure at scale. This leader will partner with other security leaders to support core security functions like risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Working cross-functionally, they partner with development, infrastructure, and leadership teams to drive a strong security posture. The position also mentors security professionals and stays ahead of emerging threats to continuously strengthen organizational defenses.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and mentor the application security team and a group of senior cloud security engineers
Define and execute the organization’s application and cloud security strategy
Partner with engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams to embed security into all stages of development
Establish security KPIs, metrics, and reporting for executive leadership
Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms.
Application Security Team Management
Drive secure SDLC practices including threat modeling, code reviews, and security testing
Oversee implementation of SAST, DAST, SCA, and API security tools
Develop and maintain secure coding standards and developer training programs
Lead vulnerability management and remediation efforts for applications
Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics.
