About the role

Position Overview

The Novelis Global HRIS team is seeking a Sr. IT Systems Analyst who will be the technology partner with our global HR Learning and Talent (L&T) applications and Center of Excellence (COE)! Led by the Global HRIS Lead, the Sr. Systems Analyst will implement high-priority projects, including activities such as documenting requirements, facilitating design sessions, performing testing, leading UAT sessions, conducting project management, and post-go-live support. This role will also have the opportunity to help form strategic discussions with our Learning & Talent business team and may also support other HR global applications and COEs, such as Core HR, Rewards, Awards, and Compensation.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to own the implementation of new applications, new features, and functionality within our global HR systems in support of meeting the needs of our regional and global business teams.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a positive professional relationship with your COE as the main liaison between global and regional business partners; making sure to clearly understand their business priorities and business needs using the established governance model.
  • Work closely with COE leads, HR Process Excellence, and regional HRIS team members.
  • Partner closely with various cross-functional teams; ranging from the HRIT architects, the security and QA teams, software vendors, and Novelis' parent company (ABG/SeamEx).
  • Communicate the business needs across those IT teams and collaborate on the project execution.
  • Implement new projects, features & functionalities.
  • Responsible for driving projects from start to finish within the Global HR Systems, including planning the feature and/or project, gathering and documenting business and system requirements, testing and documenting any system bugs, conducting appropriate UAT sessions with business partners, and leading the deployment and hyper-care plan.
  • Provide production support and troubleshooting for systems and functions that are already in use by our business partners.
  • Provide both formal and informal project management responsibilities as the lead, while monitoring projects for risks, anticipating project issues, and developing migration plans.
  • Develop test strategy for your projects, executing test scripts and/or collaborating with the QA testing team for development and execution.
  • Build consensus and track the adoption of new opportunities within the Center of Excellence and across global and regional teams.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, Information Systems, or similar.
  • 6+ years' experience in HRIS, IT systems configuration, integration, or similar areas.
  • Experience in implementing Learning applications or similar HR systems, performing system configurations, and working with vendors providing cloud-based HR solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with strengths in conveying technical information to non-technical users. Customer-service focused.
  • Experience with gathering requirements from partners to improve solution designs.
  • Possess strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and thought-leadership capabilities to contribute to strategy and planning, process documentation, and quality system enhancements.
  • Excellent time management, project management (demand collection/planning), and organizational skills to balance contending priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as work as a part of a team.
  • An ability to quickly learn new software solutions with a detailed knowledge of all applications in the Microsoft Office suite.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background and experience with implementing HR and/or Talent Management applications and systems solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) knowledge/certification would be helpful.
  • Experience with various development methodologies, such as Agile, Iterative, or Waterfall
  • Experience working with Visio or similar visualization presentation tools.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean capabilities.
