The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire an experienced Construction Administrator I to support various construction projects at UT Austin and other UT Austin campuses in support of the project manager and consistent with Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) policies and procedures.

Purpose
To provide skilled, professional quality assurance for construction projects in order to ensure compliance with contract documents and applicable standards. Assignment workload may be up to 10 CP (<$10M Total Project Cost (TPC)) projects.
Responsibilities
- This team member must provide consistent, timely and reliable communication between all project stakeholders, including clients, professional service providers, university personnel and contractors to ensure that projects are thoroughly documented and understood; and provide excellent customer service to meet client needs and university Design & Construction Standards.
- Monitor projects' scope, budget and schedule. Communicate progress with project team. Consult with PM on changes to scope, schedule or budget. Interact with team members to resolve issues and accomplish project goals. Interact with PSPs and participate in the review of RFIs and submittals. Monitor project’s schedule of values to evaluate adherence to schedule and budget. Facilitate completion of punch items and conduct warranty observations with stakeholders within one-year warranty period.
- Attend pre-construction meeting and regular onsite construction meetings. Facilitate pre-installation meetings between contractor and subcontractors as required. Lead pre-construction and regular job site construction meetings. Coordinate construction activities with campus stakeholders. Coordinate with campus when site visits, inspections, noise control, traffic control, security or utility outages are required by the work.
- As required, monitor Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Best Management Practices and posted notifications, conduct weekly inspections and follow-up on correction of noted non-compliance by contractor. Stay current in Codes and Regulations applicable to design and construction, including International Building Codes (IBC), NFPA 101, TDLR, OSHA, ADA/TAS, ASHRAE 90.1, TPDES, & any special requirements of the building type ( teaching, healthcare, research labs, etc.).
- Assist in design and constructability reviews. Demonstrate working knowledge of the University’s design and construction standards. Assist in design and construction conflict resolution. Demonstrate an awareness of project safety requirements, following OSHA standards. Serve on committees, task forces, and other groups, to improve the departmental mission of excellent client service and project delivery.
- Monitor project close-out procedures and deliverables, including Operation and Maintenance manuals, current and accurate as-builts, record documents, punch lists, and warranty walk-through within the one-year warranty period.
- Drives to project work sites. May prepare project reports, photo documentation, and maintain projects files and records.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Up to five years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, and or supervising institutional facility construction, renovation, or maintenance projects. Must exhibit strong communication skills and positive attitude at all times. Current Class "C" Operator's Driver License required. Prior to date of hire, applicant selected must provide a Motor Vehicle Report "MVR" with a driving history from all states of applicant's residence for the previous 36 months. MVR will be evaluated to determine eligibility to drive a university-owned vehicle. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver License within 30 day
