Shift Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
Please note: this position is located onsite at our facility in Amarillo, TX. There is no option for remote or hybrid work.
This role is in support of Cencora's veterinary and livestock production solutions marketed through our MWI Animal Health business. MWI Animal Health is a leading brand of Cencora, offering animal health services globally.
The Product Engineer assists in the development and implementation of clear, complete, and accurate hardware machines as well as plans and details drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes for engineering or manufacturing purposes, according to specified dimensions, using a computer and specially designed software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform essential product design modifications.
- Perform testing of hardware and devices.
- Develop essential detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment. Perform engineering change processes as necessary to support existing products.
- Create 3-D models from 2-D drawings.
- Work with 3-D printers.
- Work with Product Managers to innovate better solutions.
- Ability to perform mechanical design calculations.
- Test prototypes and standard products and write reports to document the results.
- Help create training documents around products and new designs via documentation and video.
- Implement Quality Control program for Animal Production Operations
- Write and publish quality control documents for testing protocols on built subassemblies and perform testing.
- Document found issues and work with Production Technicians to capture and correct any deficiencies.
- Provide quality metrics to Operations Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Mechanical Engineering Degree required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work with multiple functions to coordinate the flow of information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate engineering requirements.
- Accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.
- Ability to provide support and assistance to co-workers as appropriate.
