The Director, Vehicle and Connected Cybersecurity plays a critical leadership role in developing and executing the company's overall cybersecurity strategy. This individual will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and continuous improvement of critical vehicle and product cybersecurity service areas, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company products, services, data and systems. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proven experience in leading and mentoring a team.
What you'll do...
The Vehicle and Connected Cybersecurity Organization supports all our growing Cybersecurity needs across the vehicle and mobility ecosystem. With increasing activities across the enterprise in such areas as core vehicle, electrification, connected vehicle, autonomous vehicle and Over-the-Air (OTA), the Cybersecurity team is working to ensure that the proper security is designed into our products and services to protect the company’s assets from cyber threats. The Vehicle and Connected Cybersecurity team works with many internal and external partners, and in this role you will work closely with senior leadership in driving expanded growth. Key responsibilities include:
· Leadership of a global team of over 200 employees and an operating budget of $30M+
· Accountability for the Product Security Operations Center (PSOC)
· Providing oversight to key partners as they fulfill their responsibilities related to defined Cybersecurity principles
· Building partnerships with key programs within the Company
· Driving the list of programs and projects globally and align on security engagements
· Influencing relationships with the Key Management, IAM, Monitoring, Threat Modeling, Penetration Testing and Cloud Core Engineering Team
· Leading corporate processes aligned with ISO and regulatory requirements including methods to ensure compliance
· Influencing and supporting the OGC relative to Cybersecurity Law
· Leading Industry engagement including potential Board responsibility with Auto-ISAC
You'll have...
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
· 7+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering role, including experience in multiple areas such as security architecture, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance. Experience as a Security Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer is highly desirable.
· Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
· Experience with cloud security technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). GCP certifications are a plus.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
· Strong project management and organizational skills.

· Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP).
· In-depth understanding of security and vehicle technology
· Vehicle and Product Development knowledge and experience
· Strong understanding of security architecture including embedded and cryptographic methods
· Experience with specific security technologies relevant to the company's infrastructure.
· Experience managing large-scale cybersecurity projects.
· Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
