About the role

Summary

The Business Analytics Senior Advisor position is an opportunity for analytics professional to provide leadership on an exciting segment of the international healthcare business occurring within the United States. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role will work collaboratively with our business stakeholders to provide partnership in analytics, developing analytics solutions, leveraging data science and technologic capabilities and embedding analytics driven processes.  The Business Analytics Senior Advisor is responsible for the execution of work primarily in support of the

supplemental benefits business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counsel and advice to top management on significant Business Analytics matters, often requiring coordination between various business areas

  • Perform complex data research and analysis to support business operations including: creating data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets

  • May conduct more in-depth research with goal of breaking new ground in business data analytics.  Creatively addresses business problems and challenges the status quo 

  • Focus on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines

  • Manage analytics process, including data and analytic development. Ensure code is appropriately documented and can be understood by other analysts

  • Compile various analysis and present analytics to gain stakeholder support and buy in 

  • Manage the documentation process, documenting stakeholder alignment and analysis ensuring other analyst can pick up and understand

  • Maintain and teach analytics skillset through understanding new technologies, modeling techniques, and the ability to translate the relevance to our priorities

  • Understand how our analytics affect the broader business and bridge gap between data science and stakeholders

  • Develop analytic solutions that meet the needs of the business. Influence and recommend analytic approach and results are clearly understood by business partners

  • Participation in activities outside of day to day role (committees, volunteering, etc.) 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ industry experience solving business problems through the application of analytic approaches; experience with supplemental benefit analytics is highly preferred

  • Expert-level analytics professional providing content/professional leadership on complex assignments/projects and experience in managing large data sets and driving actions 

  • Proficiency performing data wrangling and statistical analysis using SQL and Tableau. Proficiency with in Python is highly desired  

  • Working knowledge of data extraction methods using connections via Teradata, Hadoop, etc

  • Working knowledge of statistical methodologies to formulate and execute statistical analysis such as confidence intervals, bootstrapping and regression modeling highly desired

  • Ability to act as senior consultant providing counsel and advice to top management and acknowledged by peers as SME; recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex analytical assignments

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to perform presentations up to an executive level
