Our corporate culture is empathic: we acknowledge life-work balance throughout your career path.</p><p></p><p>Regulatory Reporting Citi Solution Centre (CSC) in Budapest is a key part of the Finance function.  It is Citi’s pioneering centre on a global scale where local regulatory reporting professionals work together in a central location, to ensure consistent quality of local regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions and legal vehicles.</p><p></p><p>The <b>Financial Reporting Intermediate Analyst</b> is a role for experienced professionals from the field of accounting and reporting. You will be responsible for the preparation of financial reports required by the local regulators throughout the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (e.g. central banks), performing controls over the reports and submission of them in coordination with the in-country Finance Team.</p><p></p><p>The overall objective of this role is to be a focal point in the team by accurately preparing, reporting and analysing business/financial transactions, reports and statements in accordance with local regulatory guidelines and helping junior colleagues with their day-to-day tasks.</p><p></p><p><b>What you’ll do:</b></p><ul><li><p>Produce daily, weekly, monthly &amp; quarterly regulatory reporting returns (e.g. balance sheet, profit and loss) and perform period-to-period analysis on them</p></li><li><p>Beside report preparation you will also perform checker tasks by reviewing your junior colleagues’ work, which includes:</p><ul><li><p>Reconciliation of sub-systems to primary accounting records</p></li><li><p>Substantiation of accounting records for reporting purposes</p></li><li><p>Validation and adjustment of accounting entries in the reporting ledger</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Active involvement in the interpretation, tracking and implementation of the internal and external changes in report production processes including user testing and documentation of specifications.</p></li><li><p>Take part or lead reviews and developments of current processes to increase efficiency</p></li><li><p>Help new-hire colleagues to fit in and provide on-the-job trainings to them</p></li><li><p>Liaise with multiple departments at regional and country level to resolve issues (e.g. Treasury, Local Finance)</p></li><li><p>Participate in the new system/ process implementations related to regulatory reporting requirements</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What we’ll need from you:</b></p><ul><li><p>University / College degree preferably  in finance / accounting</p></li><li><p>3+ years’ relevant work experience</p></li><li><p>Financial accounting or regulatory reporting background is an advantage</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of banking products and their accounting/reporting in IFRS is an advantage</p></li><li><p>Advanced MS Excel knowledge</p></li><li><p>Self-motivated and detail oriented</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of IFRS reporting practices and standards</p></li><li><p>Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills</p></li><li><p>Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What you’ll learn:</b></p><ul><li><p>Composition of a financial institution’s balance sheet, profit and loss and other important financial reports</p></li><li><p>Accounting treatment of securities, derivatives, loans and other financial instruments managed by a bank based on IFRS9 rules</p></li><li><p>Framework for banking financial reporting and prudential reporting as per the regulatory reporting requirements of the region</p></li><li><p>Become experienced in internal and external audits and inspections by the central banks</p></li><li><p>Being responsible for one or more of Citi’s branches regulatory reporting activities end-to-end</p></li></ul><p></p><p>We are a development-focused organization.
