Pay Grade/Pay Range:  

Development Associate Director: Minimum: $74,200 - Midpoint: $100,200 (Salaried E12)

Development Director: Minimum: $83,500 - Midpoint: $112,700 (Salaried E13) 

Department/Organization: 301105 - Development

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The University of Alabama is receiving applications for a position in Advancement. Consideration is being given for both the Associate Director and Director of Development positions.

Additional Department Summary: Focuses on developing major-gift prospect portfolios of potential individual and corporate donors, cultivating, and soliciting these prospects for current, pledged, and planned gifts for the Barefield College of Arts & Sciences. Required Minimum Qualifications:

Development Associate Director: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and some development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience.  Frequent travel required.

Development Director: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of development, fundraising, sales, communications and/or public relations experience. Frequent travel required.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.   Extensive travel required.

Skills and Knowledge: Good public relations skills. Verbal and written communications skills. Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to use personal computer for word processing and standard software packages.

Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in fundraising.
