SHIFT/SCHEDULE
Shift: Full Time = 36 Weekly Hours - Day Shift
Shift Time: 7:00am - 7:30pm
This position will have scheduled shifts every other weekend.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the RN, the BHT II provides direct patient care and participates in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. Assists licensed nursing staff by performing technical skills and assisting patients with activities of daily living on the unit. Ability to execute all tasks contained in BHT I job description. Facilitate psych-educational groups, co-facilitate group psychotherapy assigned. Promotes and maintains a safe environment conducive to healing and health promotion. Performs active milieu assessment while assigned to safety rounds.
Performs screening on admission related to services needed.
Identifies patient behaviors that contribute to development of a crisis; utilizes non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations.
EDUCATION:
2 year/Associates Degree or related health field, 5 years exp if no degree
Preferred:
4 year/Bachelors Degree or related health field, no experience required if BA
Basic Life Support Certification Required
