Operate equipment and perform routine duties to perform various non-destructive test inspection operations at Level 1 to maintain flow of work while practicing and complying with environmental, health and safety directions and procedures. 

What You Will Do

  • Perform work in accordance with various instructions such as inspection standards, blueprints, shop orders, manufacturing procedures and other written and verbal instructions within established methods and procedures.
  • Insure that all documentation such as specifications, procedures and forms and applicable tools, gages and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable.
  • Clean and degrease parts as required in preparation for inspection.
  • Obtain, move and expedite units, parts and materials within shop to support operations.
  • Perform and maintain point of use inventory.
  • Participate in chemical spill clean-up activity.
  • Operate computer terminals to retrieve, enter or verify information.  Prepare, maintain and monitor all necessary records including route sheets, schedules and log sheets.
  • Verify work performed.
  • Work as a team member to improve process and solve problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in the assigned area such as checking fluid levels, lubricating fittings, cleaning or replacing filters, replacing bulbs and tightening fittings and/or hardware.
  • May instruct one or two fellow employees in proper performance of duties less than 50% of the time.
  • Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized.
  • Perform related duties as required within the scope and skill level of this job function.
  • Must qualify for and maintain Level 1 Certifications in Magnetic Particle, Visible Dye and/or Florescent Penetrant Inspection.
  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:30 pm – 12:00 am
  • Training Schedule:  Mandatory training will take place on 1st shift until management deems the employee is able to work independently and unsupervised. At that time, the employee will move to 2nd shift. We anticipate the training to be up to 4 months.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with inspection standards and/or specifications, operation sheets, shop travelers, manufacturing procedures and written or verbal instructions. 
  • Experience with being able to read gauges such as ammeter, voltmeter, and utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers and scales.
