This role is located at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
Job Description:
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Using Standard Operating Procedures and Work Guides.
Working in a secure environment (SAP, SCIF).
One position is for a 4/10A shift, from Monday to Thursday, with hours from 0500 to 1500, subject to change based on customer requirements. Another position is for a 4/10B shift, from Monday to Thursday, with hours from 1430 to 0030, subject to change based on customer requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 4 years of applied experience. Will consider a bachelor's degree with 0 years of related experience.
Experience providing technical support for PCs, laptops, and associated peripherals.
Experience installing, troubleshooting, services and repairing IT equipment.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
8570 Certification (Sec+).ā
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors of science degree in a STEM or IT related field.
Demonstrated knowledge of Networking concepts.
Demonstrated knowledge of Database concepts.
Demonstrated experience with flight line operations.
Demonstrated experience with aircraft maintenance.
Active Program Clearance.
