Danfoss Power Solutions is looking for an Autonomous Software Engineer to join the Autonomous Machines team in Nordborg, Denmark. Do you want to join a diverse team of highly skilled SW specialists and unleash your potential in our global organization? Then we have a great opportunity for you.

In Danfoss Power Solutions we are enabling industries and applications to build, move and transform our world in a more energy-efficient and sustainable way. As a member of this global, cross-functional team, you will design modular software that will enable autonomous functionality for off-highway machines. 

Your experience allow you to understand the big picture of an application and quickly identify the core components for development. Responsibilities in the job include the development of specifications, software development, take part in machine start-ups at customer sites and participate in design reviews, FMEAs, Safety Analysis and Hazard and Risk Assessments.

You can expect approximately up to 10% travel activity per year and sometimes your flexibility is needed as you work with people globally.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

 

To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Robot Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field from an accredited college or university. You have gained 1+ years of autonomous or robotics software experience including knowledge of software processes, design, and test practices.

The preferred candidate has real-world experience with Applied Robotics, development tools like the Robot Operating System (ROS), and simulation tools like Gazebo, and it is an advantage if you have an understanding of machines, sensors and software.
As a person you are goal oriented, highly self-motivated, open-minded and excited about working with a global team, across borders and cultures. You also have good communication and collaboration skills.

 

Background & Skills

Other qualifications include:

  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Fluent in C programming
  • LiDAR, Radar, GNSS, and other sensor experience required
  • Experience with C++, Python, OpenCV or machine learning techniques is a plus
  • Experience with PLUS+1 GUIDE or other embedded programming tools preferred
  • Good English language skills in speaking and writing
