Principal User Researcher

Within Microsoft’s Business & Industry Copilot (BIC), we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what an AI-first business application can be and delivering immediate impact to users and customers to transform their day-to-day work with AI. Our research studio plays a critical role in building immersive and meaningful experiences that address users’ jobs-to-be-done in our products.  

From automation to analysis to personalization, generative AI is transforming businesses across industries. As a Principal-level Individual Contributor (IC), you will be co-driving high priority AI UX research programs within our business applications products and across Microsoft. You will focus on helping a wide range of enterprise users find value and develop appropriate trust in our applications, by defining and executing innovative research approaches for some of the toughest and most interesting AI UX enterprise questions.  

Our user research team’s mission is to advocate and ensure the best experiences for our users and customers by providing product and design teams with practical UX frameworks to uplift our Copilot experiences in BIC. We aim to help BIC stay on top of cutting-edge AI user research trends – to propel teams to create seamless user experiences, exceed customer expectations, and transform the AI value for businesses. We are seeking a Principal User Researcher to join our team.

Responsibilities

As a Principal User Researcher, you’ll strategize and execute high priority projects aimed at AI UX and product innovation, to ensure that critical decisions are data-informed and tied to key learnings. You’ll proactively lead and maintain partnerships with a number of partner teams across our organization and Microsoft. Scaling learnings with effective tools and templates will be critical. You will guide cross-disciplinary research efforts resulting in positive product outcomes and coach a variety of stakeholders on how to apply user research and ensure accountability on being customer driven.<
