Job Overview Summary
Responsible for developing and executing strategic plans for Advarra’s new data business unit in the clinical research sector. (Deep domain expertise a requirement.)
Job Duties & Responsibilities
These responsibilities include the following:
Data Product and Strategy
- Set overall strategy for all new data and standalone analytics products, and contribute to the strategy for embedded data and analytics offerings within existing technologies
- Set short term functional road maps and long term innovative road maps
- Develop ROI for investment based on market needs and competitive landscape
- Foster Data culture across the whole organization, as the new business unit becomes a key part of overall strategy
GTM
- Set commercialization strategy in collaboration with Commercial, which will include market sensing, marketing, sales enablement, pricing strategy and sales cycle support.
Operations
- Operationalize and scale the business in a way that delights clients
Financials
- Set (together with CFO and CEO) and achieve P&L targets
- Monitor financial performance and make data-driven decisions
Executive
- Support organizational growth targets and strategy
- Integral team player collaborating closely with ELT members, with an ability to work well in a matrixed environment and leverage shared services (For example, Technology, Commercial, and Legal) to accomplish team goals. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and success.
- Initially report to CEO, over-time determine best fit with intent to continue to report to ELT member if change in reporting line is merited.
Leader
- Lead and motivate a team of employees to achieve high performance
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience in product management within Pharmaceutical or related industries like Contract Research Organizations, including experience running a business, strategy focus, program management, and/or commercial experience.
- Proven aspirational, strategic, and operational leadership skills: ability to think strategically, incorporate innovation and implement strategies throughout a fast-growing, multi-disciplined, global organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills such as oral, written and listening communication skills, along with cross-functional collaboration/teamwork skills, and the ability to speak in front of large groups.
- Demonstrated skills in planning and organizing, customer focus, business case development, and cross-functional collaboration/teamwork.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and navigate complex business situations.
- Ability to build positive relationships and influence internal functions, leaders and customers while driving shared accountability and engagement.
- Proven success in understanding the needs of established customers and skilled at identifying and positioning innovative technology or services to new customers.
