Trane Technologies is currently seeking a Software Test Team Leader to join our Controls Software Test team in Clarksville, Tennessee.  The selected individual will be responsible for leading a team preparing, conducting and reporting on the testing of embedded-based software for Trane Commercial HVAC products.

What you will do:

  • Lead a team of software test engineers, technicians, and interns to rigorously test Trane Light Unitary controls software products.

  • Handle all standard Human Resources processes and procedures for direct reports.

  • Hold regular one-on-one discussions with team members to assess project progress and facilitate personal development.

  • Conduct monthly goals-alignment discussions with team members.

  • Prepare and conduct formal year-end reviews with team members.

  • Mentor team members in software testing and test lead best practices.

  • Screen, interview, and hire replacement team members when required.

  • Coordinate efforts between global software test teams.

  • Function as a test lead on selected unit controls projects, with responsibilities including:

    • Creation and maintenance of project test schedules, test cases, and test dashboards.

    • Coordinating efforts of test team members.

    • Reporting test progress to project managers and leadership.

    • Review product requirements, functional specifications and test results.

  • Participate test process improvements with test leadership.

  • Drive team innovation through use of tools like AI and Test Automation.

  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning and process improvements.

  • Collaborate with Automation Architect to enhance automation tools.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5yrs experience in embedded controls product development.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with others both in writing and verbally.

  • Knowledge of industrial/embedded controls and building control systems.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.
