About the role

Job Summary:

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) Medical Student Program Manager co-leads, alongside the Director of the Office of Medical Student Education (OMSE), the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of the OMSE in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health in meeting strategic, departmental, and student development goals. This position oversees the program budget and outreach activities and supervises program staff. This individual will oversee new initiatives such as EnRICH and PRIME-FM.

Responsibilities:

Leads the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting strategic, departmental, and student development goals. May manage the program budget and outreach activities and supervise program staff. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
  • 20% Leads the development and implementation of academic program initiatives
  • 10% May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
  • 20% Serves as the liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups to identify and maintain academic program-related partnerships
  • 10% Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and academic program objectives
  • 10% Evaluates existing academic program strategy and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program enhancement
  • 10% May manage the unit budget and approve unit expenditures
  • 10% Assists stakeholders with preparing and/or maintaining documentation, financial management, and/or reporting requirements related to sponsored grants, contracts, or agreements
  • 5% Provides full service advising resources and services, provides information about educational options and academic requirements, and communicates directly with students regarding all aspects of the advising process
  • 5% Manages degree programs and/or certificates, high impact practice programming and events, and curriculum development and implementation

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

- Experience supervising, leading, and/or training employees preferred
- Experience in medical education, which may include work in an administrative role or involvement with program oversight preferred
- Experience managing or overseeing a budget preferred
- Experience with managing complex schedules or projects preferred

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $73,630 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The starting salary for the position is $73,630, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
