Job Description Summary
As the VP - Investment Operations you’ll serve as a member of the Investments’ Leadership Team and as a key business partner within the Investments and support organizations. With the backdrop of an increasingly complex investment portfolio with diverse asset classes and strategies, you’ll lead operational transformation though leveraging team, technology, industry best practices, and vendor managed services.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Define and communicate a strategy and roadmap to modernize Investment Operations, with focus on next-generation operations and service capabilities, differentiated stakeholder experiences, and scalability across asset classes.
Lead a team responsible for trade processing and settlement, investments life-cycle events, collateral management, valuations, reconciliation, and related operational activities.
Ensure that operational processes are effective, efficient, and designed with proper documentation and controls.
Maintain effective relationships with external service providers including custodians, software vendors, managed services providers, and auditors.
Ensure that the Operations team partners and engages with business partners proactively and effectively.
Ensure that the Operations team is properly staffed, coached, developed, motivated, and engaged. Ensure that proper succession planning is in place at all levels.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Chief Investment Officer. Leads 4 direct reports and 25 indirect reports.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance. Professional designation or MBA preferred.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in investment accounting or investment operations. Experience in trading operations a plus. Insurance experience a plus.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Ability to articulate needs of today into future visions and organizational goals. Acts as a thought leader to enable speed and efficiency. Complete understanding of investment products and services, end to end processing, and Industry best practices. Has a broad understanding of technology and how to best leverage.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
