Role Description: MD, Head of Legal Coverage for America Global Capital Markets
- Reporting to Steven Brown – this is a Senior capital markets attorney, within the institutional securities legal group, to lead legal coverage for the global capital markets businesses in the Americas.
- Products and desks covered by the team include equity capital markets, debt capital markets, leveraged finance, lending as well as other related desks and products.
- Seasoned transactional experience, subject matter expertise in the capital markets and strong technical knowledge of the federal securities laws required.
- Around-the-clock engagement with clients and colleagues to support market-leading capital markets business.
- Ability to effectively lead, supervise and guide team of coverage lawyers. Participation, at senior level, in governance, franchise, risk, policy, industry and related matters.
- Managing Director or senior Executive Director level position depending on the experience of the candidate.
- 15 + years (law firm and/or in-house) legal experience. New York State bar admission / license.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $400,000 and $400,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
