Job Description

As a Bookkeeper specializing in property management, you’ll be at the heart of our client’s financial operations. You’ll manage trust accounts, reconcile payments, and ensure pinpoint accuracy using industry-leading software like Xero and PropertyMe. This role offers a unique blend of traditional bookkeeping and specialized property management tasks, providing an opportunity to expand your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’ll work directly with property owners’ funds, requiring a high level of trust and precision. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to make a significant impact in a growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and reconcile trust accounts for multiple property owners with meticulous attention to detail
  • Perform data entry and reconciliation in Xero, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date and accurate
  • Handle payroll processing, guaranteeing timely and correct payments
  • Utilize PropertyMe software for property management-related financial tasks
  • Oversee the accurate management and allocation of funds on behalf of property owners
  • Reconcile payments across various accounts and verify invoice statuses
  • Provide crucial support for general bookkeeping and administrative tasks in the property management sphere
  • Collaborate with local accountants and team members to maintain financial integrity

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in real estate or property management
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software; experience with PropertyMe is a significant advantage
  • Strong understanding of trust account management within the property management context
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a track record of maintaining high accuracy in financial data management
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple accounts and deadlines
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills suited for remote work
  • Ability to work independently while aligning with New Zealand business hours
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with remote team members
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn new systems and processes in a growing business environment
