Job Summary:The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader for the role of Deputy Assistant Director within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) unit. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this pivotal position tackles complex challenges and strategic issues critical to enhancing ADOA's mission of delivering impactful results. Job Duties:- Manage and support development and implementation of the agency’s annual budget, including monitoring, analyzing, and periodically reporting on financial performance. Coordinate preparation of annual budget submission and funding requests. Develop, recommend, and implement fiscal strategies, policies, and initiatives to support the agency’s strategic priorities and fiduciary responsibility. Manage the agency’s finance, cash management, and budget functions.
- Work closely with senior leadership across the Department to manage a portfolio of projects, budget initiatives and policy proposals related to strategic priorities. Monitor progress to ensure goals, priorities, and time frames are met. Serve as a thought leader and policy convener, providing assistance, guidance, and recommendations while functioning as an internal consultant across a wide range of priority areas and conducting analysis on all relevant proposals and data.
- Rapidly assimilate complicated technical, regulatory, and organizational details unique to each project area. Provide analytical and presentation support to leadership; prepare materials and talking points for priority meetings, events and speaking engagements.
- Maintain awareness of external current events and broader developments that may impact workstreams; review best practices in priority areas from other states, national governments, and/or the private sector and employ those to inform ADOA policy. Collaborate with key leaders and staff to distill and share learnings throughout the organization to continually drive greater impact and a culture of learning.
