Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
This position will develop, analyze and conduct complex financial analyses to assess the viability of strategic and financial plans and programs independently. This will include integrating financial principles, theories and concepts to develop complex reports and monitoring financial success of program and project implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists division director, administrative officers, and faculty in the development of program budgets, and monitors, interprets, and analyzes clinical practice financial performance in realizing established plans and objectives for the program.

• Develops projections to model the financial impact of new and existing programs and projects.

• Designs, develops, and modifies financial forecasting models and simulations for new or existing programs.

• Accumulates and analyzes data from existing or established databases and dashboards in attempts to identify trends affecting budgetary and operational needs.

• Investigates and analyzes financial transactions in support of programs and projects and reviews monthly variances with divisional leadership.

• Prepares routine and ad-hoc financial reports for faculty and division director, department administrator and Chairman that conform to Departmental & VUMC guidelines, using appropriate reporting tools/resources in Workday.

• Collects and analyzes provider level billing and reimbursement data to help ensure compliance and maximize reimbursements.

• Demonstrates problem solving skills by using critical thinking and finding root cause of issues or anomalies.

• Communicates results and recommendations to customers in a concise and user-friendly format. 

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

Presents analysis, ideas, and findings using the appropriate data visualization and presentation tools [such as Word, Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint].
• Written Communication (Advanced): Demonstrates the ability to write clear, detailed, and comprehensive status reports, memos and documentation. Demonstrates an understanding of effective composition, such as having first line in a paragraph state the subject.
• Financial Analysis (Advanced): The process of evaluating businesses, projects, budgets, etc. to determine their performance, stability and profitability.
• Problem Solving (Advanced): Uses critical thinking and process improvement i.e. coaches and mentors development of problem statement, describes current state, identifies root causes, creates future state, coaches and mentors development of solutions and action plans with a sustainability plan. Applies appropriate tools to address issues.
• Project Management (Advanced): Planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.
• Peer Leadership (Novice): The ability to show leadership and influence people of equal rank in an effort to accomplish team goals.
