We are offering an exciting opportunity as Commercial Manager to be an important part in paving the way for Vattenfall and its customers and partners towards a fossil free future!
As Commercial Manager you will facilitate day to day commercial operations of the site(s) and/or project(s); will be the primary point of contact for all contract and commercial matters; manage the operational contracts of the site(s) and/or project(s); and supports in meeting the operational plan, achieving business plan targets and are working to continually improve commercial processes to achieve costs efficiencies across the business.

The Commercial Management is part of Operational Excellence group together with Process Management and Performance Analysis and Improvements. Operational Excellence is responsible in driving maturity in Operation and Maintenance and Commercial Management plays an important role in this. In Commercial Management we support the business by optimizing our contractual coverage, ensuring our commitment to our contractual obligations and aiming for improvement on our day to day cost.
What will you do?
You will be part of a dedicated team of Commercial, Claims and Warranty Managers and drive commercial processes within the mandate of Commercial Management in O&M Delivery Offshore.
Commercial Management:
- Running the daily commercial operation of the site(s) and project(s)
- Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks
- Providing the management team with commercial expertise and strategic advice
- Ensuring contractual coverage for all planned and ad-hoc requirements of the site(s) and project(s)
- Being responsible for contract planning for the site(s) and project(s)
- Being responsible for the preparation of contracting strategy which involves monitoring contracts in the pipeline as well as optimization in existing contracts
- Supporting the procurement processes and negotiations for new contracts
- Monitoring procurement and contracted savings
- Optimizing live contracts to ensure budgets are not exceeded and where possible propose savings potential
- Supporting the business planning and guardrail process
- Supporting ad hoc and miscellaneous commercial topics
- Preparing commercial letters and responses
Contract Management:
- Being responsible for implementing contract management methodology
- Proactively managing all agreements, obligations, prerequisites, assumptions, expectations and objectives related to a specific contract between supplier, client and possible subcontractor(s)
- Eliminating or reducing any defects, omissions, ambiguities and discrepancies in the interpretation of agreements, obligations, expectations and prerequisites
- Ensuring that all stakeholders understand and adhere to contractual obligations
- Developing and maintaining good business relationship with new and existing contractors and both internal and external stakeholders
- Resolving commercial issues, including variations and claims and drive escalation, if needed
- Preparing, reviewing and negotiating contractual claims
- Ensuring that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties
Processes, Reporting, Standardization and Optimization:
- Preparing contract management plans
- Preparing periodical reports on commercial and contractual status
- Preparing commercial and contractual KPI monitoring and reporting
- Supporting central commercial initiatives including reviewing and developing commercial processes where needed
- Implementing commercial processes to ensure seamless delivery and completion of tasks and initiatives
- Actively monitoring and implementing lessons learned
Location
The work location is Kolding in Denmark. Some travel should be expected, maximum 40 days per year.
