Title: Software Engineer, Fullstack, Content & Discovery

Location:  US-Remote #LI-Remote

Job Purpose: Join the LTK Family! We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join the Creator Content squad and help us build backend services and web apps at-scale which power all the content LTK Creators post on our platform. With your primary emphasis on backend development, you’ll be responsible for improving and developing new features in distributed systems which fuel the shopping experiences for millions of shoppers. Our team is always striving to create innovative tools that enable our creators to bring their best content onto our platform. On this team you’ll have the opportunity to influence the direction of these core features that lie at the center of our ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn and grow in their role. You’ll have the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced engineers who have maintained large systems at-scale and will have ample opportunities for personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a primary emphasis, design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems using Golang and related technologies.
  • As a secondary emphasis, contribute to building new features in web applications.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
  • Write automated tests to ensure high code quality and reduce regression risks.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
  • Troubleshoot and debug production issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Continuously improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems.
  • Drive tasks to completion and take ownership for your portion of projects.
  • Work and succeed in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
  • Identify and drive improvements to our software and development processes.
  • Work with distributed teams across different time zones.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • History of designing and building scalable distributed systems in a cloud environment.
  • Experience writing services in Golang (preferred), Python, Java or equivalent.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
  • Experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, and RDS or equivalents
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, databases, and web protocols (REST, HTTP, etc.).
  • Have built scalable internal and public-facing APIs (REST, JSON, HTTP).
  • Comfortable shipping code multiple times per day.
  • Ability to model and conceptualize complex systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have:

  • Web development experience, preferably with a Single Page Application (SPA) framework like Vue.js or React.js
  • Degree: A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, although relevant work experience can sometimes compensate for formal education.
  • Experience with non-relational data stores such as DynamoDB or Cassandra.
  • Knowledge of domain-driven design.
  • Familiar with knowledge of observability tools such as DataDog.
  • Familiar with feature flags and A/B testing.
