Job Description:
This role will perform translation and transcription from Standard Arabic, Kurdish Sorani and Chaldean Neo-Aramaic to English as well as interpretation for Accenture Federal Services. You will work with a team of linguists supporting CONUS and OCONUS operations.
The Work:
- Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard copy formats that not only contain facts but also some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances.
- Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text.
- Word choice and expression generally adhere to target language (TL) norms and means of expression specific to subject field (s) and are strong enough to allow translator to operate successively in that field.
- Consecutive interpretation is needed, but on rare occasions simultaneous interpretation may be requested.
- Understand one or more regional dialects.
- Review audio or internet materials, transcribes with high degree of accuracy and expression. Is able to identify and accurately summarize factual points as well as abstract concepts.
- Can triage documentation to isolate pertinent and nuanced info
- Travel is required; candidate must be able to support the contract 24/7 when on travel.
Here's what you need:
- Testing at or above a (3) for translation and interpretation on Inter-agency Language Roundtable (ILR) scale in Standard Arabic, Kurdish Sorani and Chaldean Neo-Aramaic
- Fluency in English; reading, writing, and speaking
- 5+ years experience with MS Office producing written translations and products in addition to sufficient internet skills that will allow basic research on the Web
Bonus points if you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous military experience
- Experience deployed as a linguist supporting contingency operations
Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City or Washington as set forth below and information on benefits offered is here.
Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role
California: $90,700 - $147,100
Colorado: $90,700 - $127,100
New York City: $105,000 - $147,100
Washington: $96,600 - $135,200
