A Research Associate position is immediately available in Dr. Xuewei Wang’s laboratory in the Department of Molecular Medicine and Neuroscience Institute at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. Our lab uses mouse genetics, mammalian cell culture, single-cell and bulk multiomics sequencing, advanced microscopy, etc. to study the mechanisms of axon regeneration and neuroprotection using neural injury and neurodegenerative disease models. We are seeking self-motivated candidates who have their Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biological or biomedical fields and are proficient in experimental neurobiology. Background in neurodegeneration or neural regeneration research or experience in bioinformatics is a plus.

- The position also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, practiced documentation skills, and ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, set priorities and manage time effectively despite unanticipated interruptions.
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution with demonstrated record of academic research achievement, or professional qualifications in the field of specialization above those which would be equivalent to the highest degree.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Research Associate.
- We prefer candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neuroscience/Neurobiology or similar fields and a strong background in experimental neurobiology.
- Candidates with experience in rodent neurosurgery or bioinformatics will be given the highest preference
