Toyota's Connected Technologies Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Engineer, for our vehicle Infotainment product and services space.

The Engineer is responsible for defining, executing, and owning the product strategy and product lifecycle tasks for a portfolio of products and delivering against a strategic product roadmap, the Principal Engineer balances product backlog priorities.

What you’ll be doing

• Understand Bluetooth SIG and 802.11 Specifications and develop Functional Specification for developers.

• Work on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto function and UX integration on IVI.

• Responsible for triaging issues and finding the root cause, establish the countermeasure and close out the tickets in a timely manner.

• Work with Phone OEM to resolve issues.

• Work with across function team to meet all project deliverables and milestone dates.

• Align with TMC stakeholders for in-market and next generation multimedia spec as needed.

• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of Android Auto/CarPlay/Bluetooth/Multimedia Wi-Fi function by supporting internal CT stakeholders with technical know-how, such as product purpose, demos, presentations, education and investigate field issues as necessary.

• Work across teams to overseeing product lifecycle for the defined product(s), from industry study, strategic planning, supplier evaluation, proof of concept, specification writing, software development, software evaluation and product launch.

• Support with research and identify new CT opportunities to innovate and improve future customer satisfaction by bringing innovative features into the future cockpit.

• Drive future customer satisfaction by creating a simple, intuitive, and consistent customer experience.

• Excellent JIRA, Confluence, Excel, and PowerPoint skills as well as strong presentation skills needed.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college/university.

• Relevant work experience in product management, product development, engineering, server/ cloud development, or other relevant disciplines.

• A proactive, motivated individual who can self-manage and execute once given strategic direction.

• Experience conducting market research and validating customer needs.

• Ability to manage a wide variety of projects across multiple brands, business units, and/or technology platforms.

• Focused desire to identify and build technology products and services that customers enjoy.

• Passion and deep interest in wireless technology and in vehicle infotainment.

• Passion for the customer experience, and obsessive about the details.

• This position requires working onsite at our Plano, TX office Monday through Thursday and when the work permits remote Fridays. Weekly evening meeting calls with our Corporate Partners in Japan will also required.

• Experience working in functional areas such telematics, product management, digital transformation, and emerging technologies and/or relevant industries such as automotive, consulting, or technology.

• Agile product management or corporate development experience also a plus.

• Ability to easily break down complex, ambiguous problems and propose novel solutions.
