Position Summary
CVS Health is hiring a Director of FP&A within its Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness Segment (PCW). This critical and highly visible role resides within the Segment’s FP&A Center of Excellence (CoE) and offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with leadership. Additionally, it impacts strategic decision making and sustainable long-term earnings growth through support of stakeholders in all aspects of financial performance management.
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness (PCW) Segment, the Director will lead the Planning & Capital pillars of the FP&A Center of Excellence (CoE) respectively and coordinate all major end-to-end processes within these workstreams
Lead a team structured into 2 pillars, namely Planning & Analysis, and Capital Investment
Lead PCW’s annual operating and long-range plans for both the P&L and Capital, including supporting socialization and formal business reviews with Leadership
Partner with Finance Leadership, Business leaders, and Corporate Functions (such as Enterprise FP&A, Enterprise Strategy, Communications, Investor Relations, etc.) in support of Segment financial goals
Additional responsibilities associated with managing the Segment’s Capital portfolio include Month-end close, Quarterly Forecasting, managing the monthly re-allocation process, and leading/facilitating the agenda for monthly Capital Committee meetings
Preparation of reporting packages, formal business reviews, Board of Directors, and other leadership presentations
Routinely work cross-functionally with multiple functions, both internal and external to the segment such as Enterprise FP&A, Strategy, Treasury, Investor Relations, etc. in support of various presentations and initiatives
Develop and deliver executive level presentations, including strong logical structuring,
storyboarding, and presentation delivery.
Support the talent agenda for the Retail FP&A COE, defining and building needed talent
capabilities
Support strategic and transformative programs to improve FP&A processes
Lead, coach and mentor a team of five colleagues
Responsibilities can be expected to change in accordance with business needs
Required Qualifications
At least 10 years of progressive Finance or other suitably aligned experience including prior FP&A experience in a large publicly traded company
At least 3 years of managing cross-functional matrixed partners and stake holders
Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience engaging with Executive Leadership including strong logical reasoning and storyboarding to impact decision making
Ability to influence key stakeholders, within and outside Finance function
Demonstrated ease operating in a high paced and fluid environment
Demonstrated sense of comfort working with imprecise data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated with ability to work independently under compressed deadlines
Mastery of problem solving - experience collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders to define problem statements and design appropriate analytical solutions
Prior experience with Finance consolidation and reporting systems such as SAP S4, HFM, Essbase, etc.
Robust understanding of enterprise financial data models and associated inter-linkages
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Applications particularly Excel and Powerpoint
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
CPA/CFA/MBA preferred
