Individually mastering our craft, to collectively empower millions.<br/><br/><br/>Guidewire Cloud Platform<br/>We are part of the team responsible for building the Guidewire Cloud Platform, enabling our customers to develop and deploy Guidewire Insurance Platform solutions to the cloud - similar to deploying applications on AWS. Under the hood, the platform is built on AWS, utilizing Kubernetes and Terraform for scalability and efficiency.<br/><br/><br/>Database Service Team<br/>The Database Service team at Guidewire is responsible for managing and automating database operations within the Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP). This includes provisioning and managing PostgreSQL databases for InsuranceSuite deployments, handling backups and restores, and optimizing database resources. The team works with AWS Aurora, Argo Workflows, and AWS SQS to ensure seamless database performance, reliability, and scalability. If you’re passionate about cloud-based database management and automation, join us to help shape the future of insurance technology!<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>Tech Stack:<br/>Our teams develop components for the Cloud Platform as autonomous microservices, primarily using Java stack (Java 17+ and Spring Boot) supported by AWS-native services. Our microservice architecture runs on Kubernetes within AWS, managing and storing mission-critical configuration and reference data. We provide consumer-quality interfaces that allow customers to quickly configure Guidewire applications.<br/><br/><br/>Our teams take ownership of all aspects of the software development lifecycle for their services, including architecture, coding, quality assurance, infrastructure, and deployment/upgrade strategies. We embrace agile methodologies to promote collaboration and efficiency across our projects.<br/><br/><br/>This role requires in-office attendance for 10 days per month (specifically, the last week of the month, Monday through Thursday, and for the remaining weeks, Tuesday and Wednesday).<p></p><p><b>Job Description</b></p><p></p><h3><b>What We're Looking For:</b></h3><ul><li><p><span>Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant programming experience.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proficiency in Java or another programming language, with a willingness to quickly learn Java.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with object-oriented design patterns and best practices, including Clean Code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), code reviews, and pair programming.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in microservices architecture.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong problem-solving skills, combined with a sense of ownership and drive.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in an English-speaking environment.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h3><b>Nice to Have:</b></h3><ul><li><p><span>Experience using public cloud providers, preferably AWS (including EKS, DynamoDB, IAM, SQS, S3, etc.).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in building platform software using Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native technologies like KubeVela.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with the Spring ecosystem (Core, Boot, Data, etc.). </span></p></li><li><p></p></li></ul><p></p><p>#LI-Hybrid</p><p></p><p></p><p><b><span>About Guidewire</span></b></p><p></p><p><span>Guidewire is the platform P&amp;C insurers trust to engage, innovate, and grow efficiently.
