About the role
Lead Wind Technician will be responsible for the onsite operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment, leads corrective campaigns, mentors field crews, and ensures safety and technical excellence in turbine scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. This role requires a self-starter with problem solving ability, deep wind industry experience and strong leadership skills.
This is a NON Travel, Local Site Role, located in Tioga, ND - Vestas 2MW Platform
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with the development of new and existing processes and procedures for
maintenance, quality and safety.
- Assist with the identification and procurement of tooling, consumables, and spare parts inventory.
- Supervisory responsibilities for a crew(s) during scheduled and unscheduled
maintenance. Assigning, planning, and coordinating tasks with technicians or contractors.
- Perform mechanical and electrical component repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions following all manufacturers’ requirements. Strategizing open work items (punch lists) in order to maintain or increase availability.
- Plan, schedule, assign, and perform preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM maintenance manuals.
- Provide technical advice to teams to aid in maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.
- Mentor and supervise junior and mid-level technicians.
- Read / Interpret and understand schematics, diagrams and procedures to troubleshoot complicated mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems associated with Vestas wind turbines.
- Use and enforce all mandated safety rules and equipment, comply with all safety procedures, Lock Out / Tag Out and environmental requirements in accordance with RNWBL, its customers, and all applicable government regulations.
- Complete all necessary reporting and paperwork for assigned projects and tasks. Including but not limited to CMMS, DSPTCH, Visit logs, Monthly/Daily Reports.
- Communicate issues and solutions to leadership and customer.
- Document accurately, all service activity including parts/materials consumption, detailed task explanations, and task start and stop times using digital reporting systems.
- Adheres to, supports, and enforces all company policies.
- Adhere to any contractual requirements, rules, regulations, local laws, and NERC requirements.
- Able to participate and respond in an On-Call 24/7/365 rotation schedule.
