JOB SUMMARY/ACCOUNTIBILITY:

Under direct supervision of the Disability/Mental Health Manager and in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards, the BCBA is responsible for assessing and addressing behavioral challenges to promote positive development. The BCBA will work within Matrix Head Start program to provide behavior analysis services to children in the Head Start classrooms. This role is vital in assisting with the targeted support for children and staff to ensure inclusion, access to services, and positive outcomes.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Must maintain certification though continuing education
• Bachelors in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or a related field. 
• Minimum two-year experience working with children in a early childhood setting or school setting. 
• Strong understanding of child development, mental health, and special education processes. 
• Effective in an environment of cultural diversity; comfortable in a collaborative, team-based work setting
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 
• Reliable transportation is required. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) for children with behavioral concerns
• Analyze behavioral data to identify triggers, antecedents, and consequences.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans based on assessment results. 
• Tailor interventions to address each child's specific needs and ensure they align with Head Start Performance Standards
• Provide training and ongoing support to center staff on behavior management techniques, data collection methods, and intervention strategies. 
• Using a team-based approach work with families to discuss behavioral challenges, provide guidance on reinforcement strategies, and offer resources for continued progress at home. 
• Facilitate family training sessions as needed.
• Work closely with the assigned Asst. Disability/Mental Health Manager in providing accommodation and modifications for identified students
• Utilize the Child Plus data system to track, process and follow-up on cases with identified concerns. 
• Maintain adequate safeguards for the privacy and confidentiality of information. 
• Complete required documentation of relevant activities and submit records and reports in a timely and accurate manner.  
• Stay abreast of current issues and trends by participation in grantee-sponsored training, center pre-service and in-service trainings, and other continuing education, career and professional development opportunities; read and review regulations and other resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
