We are seeking talented and driven Machine Learning Engineers to join our growing team at Diligent. Reporting to Applied Science Manager, this exciting role involves developing, deploying, scaling, and monitoring machine learning models and LLM-based systems as part of Diligent’s AI platform services to accelerate AI adoption across Diligent's diverse product suite.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, deploy, monitor, scale, and troubleshoot machine learning models and LLM-based systems for various applications. 

• Build automated AI testing and evaluation frameworks. 

• Collaborate with applied scientists and software engineers to implement and productize AI-based capabilities. 

• Design and develop AI libraries and frameworks to help accelerate value delivery across AI platform services. 

• Develop, test, and deploy semantic search, structured retrieval, and RAG use cases across various Diligent products. 

• Utilize LLMs, knowledge graphs, traditional NLP methods, and custom models to provide document set comprehension capabilities and facilitate insight extraction. 

• Implement and fine-tune models using Python and PyTorch, leveraging AWS infrastructure. 

• Work on projects involving sensitive customer content used for Diligent customers’ board communications, which requires stringent privacy and security measures.  

• Document and communicate your approach, progress, and results to the broader team. 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Proficiency in Python, NumPy, scikit-learn, Pandas, NLTK, spaCy, PyTorch, or similar. 

• Proficiency in building ML/AI pipelines and relevant tools such as MLFlow, AWS SageMaker, or similar. 

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code practices in Azure, GCP, AWS, or similar. 

• Experience with end-to-end AI-based solution lifecycle. 

• Foundational knowledge in NLP and machine learning. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Hands-on experience with LLMs including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, model evaluation, and building RAG-based functionality. 

• Experience with semantic search and information retrieval systems. 

Educational Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field. 

• Master’s or PhD a plus. 

Experience Level: 

• Machine Learning Engineer I: 0-2 years of relevant experience. 

• Machine Learning Engineer II: 2-5 years of relevant experience. 

• Senior Machine Learning Engineer: 5+ years of relevant experience. 

• Staff/Principal Machine Learning Engineer: 10+ year
