Corporate Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the Company's organizational structures, financial reporting, and general ledger.
- Oversee corporate senior accountant and accounts payable and receivable staff, delegate tasks, communicate expectations and provide guidance and mentoring staff to foster a collaborative growth mindset and team environment.
- Manage the corporate monthly close cycle through preparation of monthly divisional financials while ensuring high quality work product, free of errors or significant rework.
- Direct and review senior accountants' monthly financials, reconciliations, schedules, and other routine and ad hoc work in line with reporting deadlines.
- Ensure financial reporting adheres to U.S. GAAP using technical accounting research when necessary.
- Partner with the Company's divisional accounting teams and AP team to ensure accurate and timely billing and receipt of management fees and other service relates fees.
- Prepare an internal quarterly financial binder including financial statements, significant transactions, and flux analysis.
- Be the main contact with bank contacts regarding account creations and closures, assist with establishing user access in online banking portals, and performing periodic audits of user access and transaction limits for the Company's bank accounts.
- Assist with the accounting software conversion to Yardi, including data validation, system learning, setting up training modules, and helping to create policies and procedures related to new software.
- Provide support for external audits.
- Help oversee debt compliance tracking and corporate debt covenant calculations.
- Complete to review ad hoc projects as needed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting - Required
Experience:
- 4+ years public or private industry experience (practical corporate/real estate accounting experience preferred)
- 1+ years of team management experience - Required
Skills:
- Excellent grasp of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Real Estate Accounting and Fund Accounting preferred
- Experience with Yardi preferred
- Software conversion experience is a plus
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Adobe Acrobat)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and delegation skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
Benefits
- Compensation: $110,000-$130,000/year
- Eligible for discretionary benefits: performance bonus target
