The Opportunity

The Senior Ping Delivery Engineer will oversee the delivery and daily operations of our Ping Suite, specializing in application integration, support, and design for enterprise authentication platforms. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining identity lifecycle solutions. Responsibilities also include maintaining comprehensive documentation of processes and configurations, as well as participating in 24x7 Tier 2 on-call support to ensure operational continuity.

Day in the Life

  • Annually review and update as required integration standards to ensure they are within best practices for the platform and in compliance with industry and Velera standards

  • Lead access management platform integrations for both internal systems and clients

  • Lead business process evaluation/improvement activities and requirements gathering

  • Lead system implementations

  • Ensure technical documentation it completed thoroughly meeting Velera standards

  • Meet with operational teams and conduct training / handover of operational materials such as runbooks, technical diagrams, and SOPs as required

  • Maintain access platform, performing upgrades and required patches in accordance with Velera update expectations

  • Partner with Enterprise and Solutions Architects within Velera to design robust fault tolerant solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of experience with PingFederate and PingAccess including design, implementation, and integration in large-scale, complex environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise with Ping Identity's PingOne technologies such as PingOne for Customers, PingOne for Workforce, PingID, as well as their Davinci (Orchestration), Fraud Detection, Risk Management, MFA, and Identity Verification capabilities

  • Experience with IAM concepts such as Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), Zero Trust, and Passwordless

  • Hands-on experience implementing IAM protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OIDC in both a provider and consumer role

  • Hands-on experience with IAM concepts such as federation and single sign-on (SSO) in both a provider and consumer role

  • Experience working with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) cloud environments such as AWS and Azure specifically with Ping and external cloud-based LDAP providers including integration, synchronization, and replication

  • Experience designing directory structures for complex direct and indirect organizational relationships

  • Implementation experience with multi-tenant SSO solution including directories

  • Development experience with custom adapters, plugins, and integration code in languages (e.g. Java, etc) for Ping products

  • Knowledge of Networking, security concepts (routes, subnets, ports, firewalls, etc.) and tools

  • Proficiency with both the Windows and Linux operating system

  • Design and implementation experience with Kubernetes, Dockers

  • Thorough understanding of certificates and certificate based authentication

  • Automation and DevOps skills, such as deploying and managing Ping solutions using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or other CI/CD pipelines

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for authentication, authorization, and SSO issues across distributed environments

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g. GDPR, SOX, PCI) as they pertain to identity and access management
