Sr IT Operations and Monitoring Engineer Texas (Remote)

Locations: Remote but only Texas residents are accepted.

Need a Senior IT Operations and Monitoring Engineer that will be managing and ensuring the optimal performance of the Texas Integrated Eligibility Redesign System (TIERS).

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Implementation, administration, and maintenance of monitoring systems

Updating stakeholders on the health and performance of TIERS

 

Minimum Candidate Characteristics:

Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience in handling various types of logs, HTTP headers, and web services, as well as expertise in scripting languages like PowerShell and Python.

Candidate should be proficient in application monitoring and observability across multiple products within a large organization.

Ability to create detailed manuals, reports, and documentation.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or possess equivalent relevant work experience.

 

Exceptional Candidate Characteristics:

Prior experience work on a TIERS project.

6 years of experience in deploying and configuring monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.

6 years of experience Integrating cloud technologies with monitoring tools.

Strong background in IT operations, programming, and systems/software development, particularly within healthcare applications and systems.

 

Expected State Date: May 15, 2024

 

Location: This is a remote role from anywhere within Texas. Out-of-state candidates will not be considered.

Responsible for the implementation, administration, and maintenance of monitoring systems, delivering crucial insights on TIERS' health and performance to all stakeholders across the organization."

 

II.  CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Years - Required/Preferred Experience

 

8 - Required Experience in working with varies types of logs, HTTP headers, and web services.

8 - Required Experience in PowerShell scripts and/or Python. Any other similar scripting language will also be considered.

8 - Required Experience in application monitoring and observability for multiple products at a large organization.

8 - Required Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or technology, or equivalent relevant work experience.

8 - Required Possesses significant capability in creating manuals, reports, documentation, and other written materials.

6 - Preferred Expertly deploy and configure monitoring tools, such as Splunk and Dynatrace, to industry standards, supporting team members and business owners in optimizing TIERS' availability, performance, and health.

6 - Preferred Experience integrating cloud technologies with Splunk/Dynatrace and monitoring tools.

6 - Preferred Experience using Splunk - configuring alerts, knowledge objects, dashboards and writing complex queries.

6 - Preferred Exhibits substantial proficiency in analyzing, diagnosing, and effectively resolving issues related to data communications.

6 - Preferred Background experience in various aspects of information technology (IT) operations, programming, systems/software development, or other IT-related support areas.
