Associate Counsel - Client Services
Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Associate Counsel for our Legal team.
This individual will be responsible for assisting with and overseeing the negotiation and management of client related contracts, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and driving collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet the company’s objectives. They will also focus on improving processes, supporting business teams with legal guidance, and refining best practices to ensure efficient and effective contract management throughout the lifecycle of vendor relationships.

This position reports to our Senior Managing Counsel. This role is hybrid and is based in Somerville, MA.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of client contracts, including but not limited to service agreements, quality agreements, consulting agreements, statements of work, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Ensure contracts align with company policies, mitigate risks, and protect the organization's interests.
- Maintain and update the contract management system to track contract status, key dates, and compliance requirements.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding contract obligations and implementation.
- Ensure all client contracts comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify and address potential legal risks associated with client relationships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, IT, finance, and operations, to understand business needs and ensure contracts meet organizational objectives.
- Provide legal advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders regarding client relationships.
- Assist in developing and refining templates, playbooks, and standard operating procedures for client contracts.
- Review junior attorney’s work and facilitate the growth of junior attorney’s within the department
- Stay current on legal trends and industry best practices to improve contracting processes and efficiency.
- Provide training and support to business teams on contracting best practices and compliance requirements.
Basic Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of corporate legal experience, with a focus on legal drafting and negotiation, business operations, and contract management.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and risk management principles.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools is a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior in-house legal experience, particularly in a corporate legal department.
- Familiarity with business litigation, service based businesses, and risk assessment issues as they pertain to client contracts.
