Summary
This non-tenured faculty position in the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) will be physically housed in the Division of Laboratory Medicine and Department of Pathology at Texas Children's Hospital. We are seeking a board-certified doctoral level clinical chemist with some experience in pediatric clinical chemistry and clinical mass spectrometry. This individual will contribute to our teaching, research, and patient care missions. This person will act as the Associate Director of Clinical Chemistry and will partner with the Medical Director to facilitate delivery of accurate and timely test results, provide clinical consultation, participate in quality improvement, and provide strategic direction for the laboratory.
This individual will participate in oversight and direction of the Clinical Chemistry section in Laboratory Medicine, including laboratory test stewardship, compliance with CAP and CLIA regulations, and the development and validation of novel tests. In addition, they will be involved in the ongoing expansion of clinical mass spectrometry.
Regarding contributions to education, this person will serve as the Associate Director of the CoMACC-accredited Ching-Nan Ou Fellowship in Clinical Chemistry at Baylor College of Medicine. They will also be able to participate in the training of residents and fellows in other programs in the Department of Pathology.
