This role supports that foundation through ensuring that the operational, analytical, and real-time data events are consistently canonically modeled to support the scale of our systems and processes.
What you’ll do…
Working with business and technical requirements to elicit business/data requirements that inform data model/entity usage needs
Partner with business/technical stakeholders to model core platform data entities using HL7 FHIR data model
Design, develop, and manage data models that support operational, real-time, and analytical platform functions
Create FHIR Profiles using FSH for use in the Implementation Guide
Leads data mapping exercises for administrative and clinical data sources against FHIR standard definitions / implementation guides
Maintains awareness of evolving standards and specialized FHIR working groups as relevant to business objectives
Ongoing analysis and profiling of data systems for quality / accuracy
Support engineering and analytics stakeholders in the incremental development and test of event triggers and analytical models from FHIR-based data sources
About you…
Must Have
8+ years working in a healthcare administrative or clinical domain as a data analyst with interoperability business patterns
3+ years working with HL7 FHIR as a data modeler/analyst
Experience with related healthcare interoperability standards (USCDI) and transaction models (ex: HL7v2, CCDA, & IHE/ITI profiles)
Deep familiarity with data harmonization patterns and challenges in healthcare systems
Proven proficiency in the implementation of HL7 FHIR-based data systems supporting interoperability and native storage
Experience with healthcare terminology & ontology systems (ex: SNOMED, CPT, LOINC, RxNorm, etc.)
Technical skills in one or more of the following: Python, SQL, CQL, Git, RDBMS
Strong communication skills
Bonus Points For:
Certification of proficiency in FHIR data model and associated standards/implementation guides
Knowledge and experience of healthcare interoperability compliance obligations (HIPAA, CMS Rules, etc.)
Experience with FHIR Schema, FHIRPath, SQL-on-FHIR, and/or CQL
Familiarity with the Aidbox platform
Familiarity with data access optimization (ex: indexes) consideration in data model development
