Senior SAP S/4Hana Project Lead (Freelance, Hungary)

Our client has set up a major SAP transformation initiative. The program involves multiple SAP-related projects, including the upgrade of core S/4HANA systems and the definition of the future landscape for local SAP environments.

To strengthen the program team, we are looking for an experienced SAP Project Lead / Integration Expert with strong coordination, planning, and stakeholder management skills.

Framework Conditions

• Location: Hybrid (partly on-site in Budapest, partly remote)
• Start: 5 January 2026
• Duration: Initially 3 months (with a likely extension until at least December 2026)
• Contract: Freelance
• Workload: Full-time (100%)
• Language: English and Hungarian
• Candidates must be based in Europe

Tasks

• Define, manage, and coordinate tasks across multiple SAP project streams (development, migration, testing, integration, cutover)
• Coordinate the deliveries and performance of external partners (system integrators and legacy vendors), including review and approval of deliverables
• Plan and manage internal resource allocation and participation of business and IT teams
• Prepare regular project status reports and present updates to senior management
• Manage escalations and dependencies, providing structured input to the central program management
• Prepare presentations and executive summaries for steering meetings and leadership reviews

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in SAP project environments (ECC, S/4HANA, or BW)
• Proven experience as Project Lead, Program Coordinator, or Integration Expert in large-scale SAP programs
• Strong background in business impact analysis, system analysis, testing, migration, and cutover
• Solid understanding of SAP process mapping and system integration
• Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills
• Fluent English and Hungarian (spoken and written)
• Experience in large international corporate environments is a plus
